Vectors can be represented in many ways, for example , , a.
This course prefers: .
Unit vectors are vectors with a magnitude of 1.
has the magnitude of 1, and travels in the direction.
has the magnitude of 1, and travels in the direction.
has the magnitude of 1, and travels in the z
direction.
Draw each vector from tail to head, starting at the head of the previous vector (or at the origin)
Since, is the same as , we can apply the same principals to
vector subtraction, by adding the negative of a vector.
A vector of dimensions gives scalar equations.
As such, we can split each dimension into their own equations.
