As a result of  theorem .… Given the complex numbers  and  in polar form

 

• Multiply their lengths
• Add the angles (therefore the angle extends in an anticlockwise fashion)

 

• Multiply their lengths
• Subtract the angles (therefore the angle reduces in a clockwise fashion)

 

• Same length
• Negative exponent
• Where ,
