Goal

Define the Goals and Scope, and a 'functional unit' you would use in writing an LCA. In defining this, consider where your product will be located

This LCA aims to report on the usage of materials and ecological effects during the physical implementation of a rainwater collection and storage system that will be situated in communities of Cambodia.

The intended parties of this document are the Cambodian communities that are directly affected, in particular Ksach Leav, Puntha Chea and Koh Knear, and will offer a documentation of the lifecycle of the materials involved from the manufacture to disposal at its maturity. The community will be given an opportunity to review the life cycle of the materials, and propose suggested changes and developments to the project to best suit their needs and requirements.

Scope

The analysis considers the time frame specifically from the delivery of source materials to the manufacture location, to the final implementation of the project.

This project assumes the community to have access to basic power tools such as power tools.

  • Volume of rainwater will be tested similar to the real life conditions
  • Materials of the scale model of the project will best replicate the materials that would be used
  • Size of the

Team

Create an inventory analysis. This should include a list of materials used, their main environmental impacts, and the end of life considerations (waste/recycling opportunities). Look up upstream/downstream effects and how these apply to your LCA.
