Thevenin and Norton equivalent circuits can be useful in modelling realistic voltage and current sources that deliver maximum power to a load

With a load connected to the voltage source, the terminal voltage drops in magnitude which is known as the loading effect.

The internal resistance  of the voltage source  in series with the load  actrs as a voltage divider

The load voltage will be constant if  is zero, or if  is very small compared to the load ()

Without a load, , , which is known as an unloaded voltage source

Note that voc = vs = VTh, Thevenin voltage,
they are all equivalent.
