With a load connected to the current source, the terminal current drops in magnitude, which is known as the loading effect.

 

The internal resistor  in parallel with the load  acts as a current divider

The load will be constant if  is infinitive, or very large compared to the load

Without a load, , , which is known as unloaded current source

o Note that isc Ideal source Practical source is — IN, Norton current, they are all equivalent.
